I. Role Play Divide the class into five groups. Each group is going to act out one part of the story of “The Phantom of the Opera.” But first each group will write their own script and hand it in to the teacher. Group One When the Phantom was born, he was so ugly that his own mother made him wear a mask.

Group Two The Phantom made a secret home under the Paris Opera House after he was forced to leave home. In the opera house, he saw Christine and fell in love with her at first sight. Group Three Christine heard a beautiful voice, but at first she didn’t know where it came from. One day, the Phantom showed up and taught her how to sing.

Group Four The Phantom killed Old Joseph and a woman to force the managers to give Christine the main role. Christine began to feel afraid of the Phantom, but Raoul calmed her down.

Group Five The Phantom kidnapped Christine and took her to his secret home. Raoul followed and tried to save Christine but failed. In the Phantom’s house, Christine pulled off his mask and saw his horrible face. She felt sorry for the Phantom and kissed his face. Finally, the Phantom released Christine and disappeared.
