How search engines work  Search engines index websites using automatic programs called webcrawlers.  The search engine creates a database of websites and organizes it.  Each search engine has a different formula and method for organizing and indexing keywords and search terms.

How search engines work  Websites are cached (stored) either in part or whole.  Each different engine has a unique technique for ranking returned results.  Some aggregate search engines compile results from other search engines, resulting in the best variety.
