What does Mesopotamia mean? The “land between the rivers” in Greek

On what rivers did Mesopotamia develop? The Tigris and Euphrates Rivers

What is the Fertile Crescent? A large arc of Fertile farmland extending from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean Sea.

When and how were farming settlements established in Mesopotamia? By 7000BC people were growing crops along the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers and had formed small villages there.

Ways to help farming … Irrigation- a way of supplying water to an area of land. Silt- a mixture of rich soil and tiny rocks. Canals- human-made waterways
