Rice Krispie Treats Microwave

Ingredients: 2 Tablespoons butter ( cut butter) 20 large marshmallows (3c. Mini) 3 c. rice krispie cereal 2/3 c. chocolate chips 1 tsp. shortening.

Directions: 1. Gather & measure ingredients. 2. Grease an 8 X 8 inch pan with soft margarine from the small tub. Use a pastry brush. 3. Place 2 T of butter in LARGE microwave safe bowl. 4. Microwave on HIGH for 20 seconds.

5. Add marshmallows to bowl and stir to coat with butter. 6. Microwave on high for *1 min. 7. Stop and stir. 8. Microwave another **1 minute.

9. Stir until smooth. The mixture will be thick. 10. Add the 3 cups of cereal and stir with a rubber scraper. 11. Scrape the mixture into square pan. 12. Use rubber scraper or buttered hands to press treats into pan.

13. Put chocolate chips & shortening in small glass bowl. 14. Microwave * 30 sec. Stir. 15. Microwave another **30 sec. Stir. 16 Spread evenly on cereal. 17. Refrigerate 5 minutes. 18. Cut into 9 pieces. (yield)

19 Wash 20. Dry 21. Put away.
