What does it mean?  Business through internet.  E-Business or E-Engineering.  Transaction of products/services through telephone or some network.  An innovation that allow us to cut cost and improve product quality with quicker delivery.  Buying and selling of goods electronically online.  A form of Electronic communication for exchange, advertisement, distribution and payment for goods and services. (International Trade Administration)

Objective :- Build customer loyalty by vast choices. Reach new market. Create new product and services. Achieve market leadership. Optimise business process. Economy in transaction. Harness technology. Minimise risks. Wealth of informations.

Types of E-commerce :- Inter organisational e-commerce (B2B). Intra organisational e-commerce (B2C). Retail e-commerce (C2C).

Technological dimension of E-commerce:-  Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).  Bar code.  Electronic mail.  Internet  World Wide Web.  Product data exchange.  Electronic forms.

Process of E-commerce (Modeling Behavior) :- It is the impact of e-commerce in human resources which can be described by modeling behavior. Different models are : Sell-side E-business. Buy-side E-business. Electronic market place model.

By Side E-commerce :- It is used to automate corporate purchasing process. i.e. raw materials and office stationeries. This software package has four parts.  A multi-supplier catalogue.  A rule-based work flow system.  An interface with suppliers.  A set of management and reporting tools.

Electronic market place model :-  This model is used by the organisations,who act as an intermediary for a large no of buyers and sellers.  They build a web based auction house, where buyers and sellers can get together to negotiate prices (e-bay and On sale).  Most of the web sites use auction development software package.

Significance of E-commerce :-  Usability :- It is the rate of converting visitors into buyers. To improve our web-site following care should be taken : Home page. One click navigation. Search engine. Building customer loyalty. Easy-to-flow instructions. Customer feedback.

Significance of E-commerce :-  Advantages :- It is the most popular way of business to expand customer base business and to increase productivity. Its advantages are; Overcoming distance problem. Existing capability. Low cost. Flexibility. Exposure. Error reduction. Other benefits.

Significance of E-commerce :-  Prospects of e-commerce :- E-commerce will increase exponentially in the coming year. An estimated 248 million people are online and this figure is more than doubling every year. On the whole the experts expect that the entire world and the world marketing will submerge into the net and will be known as “Potential of E-commerce”.

Impact of E-commerce on Human Resources :- E-commerce conducts business through internet and performs four basic functions :- Communication :- Internet has reduced inter-personal contact and social contact. WWW connects people all around the world. Process management :- It covers information and improvement of business process. It stores and transfers data.

Impact of E-commerce on Human Resources :- Service management :- It helps to improve quality of services and also controls assigning services. People gets quality services with minimum possible cost. Transport capabilities :- The sound e-commerce causes world wide dispersion of a business. The impact of e- commerce on human resources is to enhance the strength of buying/selling activities of people.

Conclusion and Suggestions :- E-commerce is growing explosively. Before the end of this decade millions of organisations and individuals will be buying, selling, binding, braking, advertising and collaborating on daily basis as the internet merges with other branches of information highways, which will result a high quality and low cost infrastructure. The four web mantras should be followed :- Dream big. Feel frequently. Never give up. Its all about people.
