Introduction I am going to write about what composite materials are in sports equipment. I am going see why the equipment is made out of this material. And I am going to see if it works.

Types of composite materials Composite materials Are made from more than one material. Such as reinforced concrete is made by embedding steel rods in the concrete. These rods are very strong in tension.

Advantages of composite materials The advantages of composite materials are that they are very strong when undergoing tension. The advantages of composite materials are that they are very strong when undergoing tension. Other good advantages of most composite materials are they are very light good for making e.g. Tennis rackets golf clubs mountain bikes etc. Other good advantages of most composite materials are they are very light good for making e.g. Tennis rackets golf clubs mountain bikes etc. Another advantage is that composite materials don’t rust.

People who work with composite materials Builders and engineers use composite materials in their lines of work. With the builder they used reinforced material such as reinforced concrete to do a good job. Engineers us different metals in their line off work.

Reasons for composite materials Lots of different sports equipment are made from composite materials because it is light such as Air Jordan trainers that basketball players use so they can run faster and with not as much strain to your muscles. This would also mean that the basketball players could jump a little higher because there is less weight keeping them glued to the floor.

Squash rackets Designers use composite materials in squash rackets because it is strong and light so the athlete’s can do there best in that sport. The rackets are also made stream lined so you can hit the ball a lot faster.

Olympic bikes Designers us composite materials in Olympic bikes so that the bike rider can go as fast as possible to win the competition he/she has entered. This bike can take a lot of strain because off the composite metal’s it is made out of.

Engineer Engineers apply technology to build things. Engineers used composite metals like reinforced concrete that they lay down this is when the concrete has metals girders layered into the concrete.

Scientist Scientist test composite materials to see how strong they are. And to see what best use it can be put to. Scientist have the gruelling task of testing these metals in every way possible.

Summary So this is why we use composite materials to make sports equipment and to make items a lot stronger and lighter and also rust resistant.
