 born in Girgenti (Agrigento), Sicily, Italy  wealthy family   Antonietta Portulano  playwright, novelist and short story writer

 studied philology at Rome and at Bonn Real Istituto di Magistere Femminile at Rome.  1897 to he was professor of aesthetics and stylistics at the Real Istituto di Magistere Femminile at Rome. Novelle per un anno.  He wrote a great number of novellas which were collected under the title Novelle per un anno.
