A patent cannot be obtained once the contents of the application have been disclosed in the public domain. 40 % of the respondents were aware of the fact. 3Mapping Key Products/ ProceessEmployees opine that Patents, Designs, Trademarks and Confidentiality Agreements are most important to their business. They believe that complexity of design, secrecy and lead time over competitors is of maximum strategic importance to their customers. 4Valaution of IPThe respondents feel that due to the high costs incurred for registering IP assets the company has not registered its IP. Till date they have not felt the need for protection. 5Commercialization of IPThe employees have no knowledge of whether they use licensed technology / products. 6TrainingNo training has been provided Functional Preparedness

Important Achievements – IP Protection CII has been facilitating the protection of IPRs through Andhra Pradesh Technology Development & Promotion Centre (an autonomous society of CII, Govt. of AP & TIFAC) CII-APTDC facilitated more than 250 IPR Services to industry & Institutes – Patentability Assessment Report, Prior Art Analysis, Intellectual Property Protection, IPR Counseling & Advisory Services. CII facilitated the Geographical Indication (GI) Registration of Pochampally Ikat the first in traditional Sector) & Kondapally Toys (First hand made toy from AP) & Silver Filigree of Karimnagar (a Unique Silver Work from Andhra Pradesh ).
