History New York was founded as a commercial trading post by the Dutch in The settlement was called New Amsterdam until 1664 when the colony came under English control. New York served as the capital of the United States from 1785 until It has been the country's largest city since 1790

Why NY ? I would like to visit NY because it´s one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It ´s full of historical monuments, places to go, clothes stores, stars and this city is never sleeping. Major destinations include the Empire State Building, Ellis Island, Broadway theatre productions, museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and other tourist attractions including Central Park, Washington Square Park, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, the Bronx Zoo, New York Botanical Garden, luxury shopping along Fifth and Madison Avenues
