L.O. Gain an understanding of the background information surrounding the novella.

Character Map Starter—You’ve all received a list of characters from the novella, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; your task is to create a mind map that encompasses all these characters and shows their relationship to one another. Choose one character off of your map and make a prediction about what will happen in the play based on what you know about this character. Make sure to utilize P.E.E.!

 The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde published in January of  Stevenson was interested in what made up a person’s character: how they could be bad as well as good.  He came from a good family but he was fascinated by the "dregs of humanity", something that the upper class pretended never existed.  After a nightmare, Stevenson wrote the story of Dr. Jekyll in just three days!
