Presentation transcript:

Bishop Patrick has recently spoken to the whole diocese about the Syrian Crisis “As Bishops, and together with leaders of Christian Churches and other faiths in Nottinghamshire, we encourage the people of our city and county to stand in solidarity with all those who are seeking refuge from countries torn apart by conflict, and to offer them a warm welcome ”

When refugees are forced to leave their homes, they have to pack up their belongings quickly and leave with what they can carry, choosing their most important possesions

Imagine if this was you and your family

If you had to pack a small bag quickly, what would you take and why.? Choose 5 things, write them down and discuss with your partner why you have chosen these items.

Lord Jesus, we pray for peace in Syria We pray that weapons would will be silenced. We pray for an end to all violence and all armed conflict. We pray with the Holy Father, all of us united: Mary, Queen of Peace, pray for Syria, pray for us
