The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Kony and the LRA

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (D.R.C.) -What do you think some of the major sports are in the D.R.C.? Some of the major sports are... - Soccer - Basketball ( Getting more popular) - Track and Field - Volleyball -Boxing Some of the games played are... - Bokwele which is like capture the flag - Ding-dingo which is a game that requires you to jump through a maze made using rocks.

Who is Kony? Kony was a man that was born in uganda and started an army. Kony wants to create a state with laws that are based on the ten commandments, even though he doesn't follow them himself. He abducts children and uses them for his own needs such as putting them into his army. Right now Kony is in hiding and people are trying to capture him.

More facts... Kony started his army in Uganda, but the Ugandan military pushed them out and into south Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic and the Congo. Videos have been created to raise awareness of the crisis in Africa involving Kony. One of these videos is called Kony The sequel to the first video is called Kony 2012 part 2. What is the LRA? The LRA is an army that was created by Kony. The LRA wants to help Kony overthrow the president and create a state based on the ten commandments. LRA stands for the Lord's Resistance army. Kony was fighting, and he found himself running out of men to fight for him. He decided to abduct children so they could make up his army.

The problem now... Kony is in hiding and we don't know where he is so some African countries are still under attack. The abducted children are in the front of the LRA when there is violence, so the LRA can't be attacked without harming the children. Children are still being abducted and sometimes are forced to kill their own parents. Many people run from their home towns to try to find safety from the LRA.

What are some possible solutions? What do you think some possible solutions would be? One possible solution would be to send out search parties for Kony, and once he was found put him in jail. The LRA wouldn't have a leader and it would be easier to attack them. Another possible solution would be to build a building where Africans that felt threatened could go for safety. One last solution would be to send basic items to the people in hiding from the LRA so they have some hope and can keep fighting.
