Harassment and Violence POLICY

POLICY This school seeks to maintain an environment that is free from: Religious Harassment Racial Harassment Sexual Harassment Violence

Incidents are investigated Any incident of harassment by anyone in this school will be investigated and disciplinary action will take place.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT Unwelcome sexual advances verbal or physical Unwelcome pressure for sexual activity Inappropriate physical contact Unwelcome sexual behavior or WORDS Unwelcome behavior or words because of gender

RACIAL and/or RELIGIOUS HARASSMENT Unwelcome physical or verbal conduct related to race Hostile Offensive Intimidating Unwelcome physical or verbal conduct related to religion Hostile Offensive Intimidating

VIOLENCE Sexual Violence Physical act of aggression or force in a sexual way Racial Violence Physical act of aggression or force related to race Religious Violence Physical act of aggression or force related to religion

ASSAULT Intent to cause fear or immediate bodily harm or death Intentional infliction of harm Threat to do bodily harm to another person

REPORT IT… TELL A TEACHER TELL AN ADMINISTRATOR THEY WANT TO PROTECT YOU

Keep this place free from religious, racial or sexual harassment.

BULLYING POLICY

What is bullying… Bullying means intimidating, threatening, abusive or harmful conduct that is objectively offensive. Bullying interferes with a student’s educational opportunities or performance or ability to participate in school.

BULLYING INCLUDES… TEASING INTIMIDATING DEFAMING THREATENING TERRORIZING Misuse of Technology ON OR OFF SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPERTY!!!! WITH OR WITHOUT THE USE OF SCHOOL DISTRICT RESOURCES!!! Bullying can happen through the misuse of technology! SENDING MESSAGES POSTING MESSAGES INSTANT MESSAGES TEXT MESSAGES DIGITAL PICTURES WEB SITE POSTINGS BLOGS

Even if you do not do the actual bullying but you allow it to happen there could still be consequences for you!

What is bullying… VERBAL PHYSICAL Harming a student Damaging a student’s property Making a student fearful of harm Creating a hostile environment WRITTEN GESTURES

REPORT IT! If you are the victim report it. If you know someone else who is a victim, report it. Tell a teacher or administrator what you know. Reporting is private and confidential. Even if you are not 100% sure, report it.

Consequences… Investigation will occur Appropriate action will take place and may include: ▪ warnings, suspensions, exclusion, expulsion, transfer, remediation, termination, or discharge.
