Provision Mapping The purpose of provision mapping is to provide an inclusive curriculum ©Alastair Fairfull
A Provision is: In order to ensure all young people are included we usually need to make available activities additional to, or different from, the usual Curriculum. These are the ‘Provisions’ we wish to map ©Alastair Fairfull
Activity 1: Provisions 10-15mins Get into little Groups In your Group, take turns to: 1. say “Hi” 2.Tell folk your ‘name’ and ‘school’ 3.Elect a scribe –Write a ‘Group list’ of Provisions (5 mins?) ©Alastair Fairfull
Provisions are typically grouped in Waves ©Alastair Fairfull
Waves model and ‘ additional to or different from’ Wave 3 Additional highly personalised interventions Wave 2 Additional interventions to enable children to work at age related expectations or above Wave 1 Inclusive quality first teaching for all 3.11 ©Alastair Fairfull
Activity 2: Provisions to Waves 5-10mins Now Groups…… –group your Provisions into Waves ©Alastair Fairfull
A Provision Mapping System should… 1.Link provision to individuals 2.Identify additional/different provision for the whole school 3.Calculate Provision costs 4.Record individual pupil targets and outcomes 5.Evaluate all your Provisions ©Alastair Fairfull

Real / potential benefits 2 Quickly report provision information for: Annual Reviews, AEN, SpLD, PSPs etc Cost provision and manage the budget effectively Prevent over-provision in some classes and under-provision in others Provide clear and transparent information for LEA monitoring eg AEN Funding Evaluate your provision, and building this into the SEF/SIP ©Alastair Fairfull
