The National digital network was created in 2011: MX-1, MX-2, MX-3, MX-5. Currently digital coverage – 95 % of Ukrainian population. 28 national and 4 regional (local) TV channels. In September 2012 the National Council held the second stage of the contest for regional and local broadcasting in TV multichannel network MX companies received 48 channels in 45 settlements. 123 channels in 96 settlements are still vacant. NATIONAL TELEVISION AND RADIO BROADCASTING COUNCIL OF UKRAINE Protection of minors In February 2012 the National Council formed the Interagency Working Group consisting of 41 members – scientists, state bodies representatives, broadcasters, NGOs. The WG co-headed and supported by the Ombudsman for Children under the President of Ukraine. A scientific survey was conducted to see parents and childrens opinions about TV risks – 60 % of questioned parents supported the new labeling system in Ukraine. Today on the basis of best European practices the WG is developing: the pilot project of graphic symbols; the questionnaire for encoders public awareness campaign video.
