Update on GLISPA & MCES GLISPA would like to support MCES by: 1.Promoting and highlighting Micronesian leadership on conservation and sustainable livelihoods and the Micronesia Biosecurity Plan (which is a world first) 2.Increase communication and exchanges between Micronesia, Hawai`i and other islands on green growth and innovative green funding mechanisms. 3.Highlighting and jointly identifying opportunities to leverage Micronesian resources and expertise with international financial and technical support.

2012 Activities Micronesia representatives have had speaking roles in all GLISPA strategic global events in 2012 (except the high level event in Rio) – Montreal, Canada (Convention on biodiversity meeting) – Rio+20 (Minister de Brum) – COP 11 – Island Summit (Minister de Brum – high level event closing speaker, Guam representatives and a representative talking about the Micronesia Biosecurity Plan)

2012 Activities Taken part in meetings and sharing of experiences: – Guam representative sent to Mauritius to help Western Indian Ocean Coastal Challenge with Micronesian experiences. – Palau representative meeting with GLISPA co-chair reps and the Convention on Biodiversitys new Executive Secretary to identify areas of common interest and support – Meeting between Hawaii (including their Chair of the Department of Land and Natural Resources) and Micronesia at COP 11 to talk about areas of potential collaboration.

Update on GLISPA & MCES GLISPA Rio high level event: which was hosted by the President of Indonesia and the Prime Minister of Grenada on behalf of other GLISPA co-chairs - President of Seychelles and President of Palau.
