What Can You Do Now… Explore Careers and decide on a field you would be interested in. Take classes relating to your chosen career interest. Plan out your four years of secondary education. Research post secondary institution requirements and begin a foundation toward these requirements.

What Can You Do Now… As parents, stay involved in your child’s education. Talk to your child about their interests. Assist with ILP on-line completion. Attend parent/teacher conferences. Expect to see progress and grade reports. View your child’s grades through Infinite Campus (on-line). Establish a channel of communication with teachers. If you see your child’s grades going down, get involved asap. Encourage your child to attend make-up & help sessions. Encourage your child to participate in C&T Student Organizations (FFA, FCCLA, FBLA, HOSA, DECA)

Why plan as a freshman? To meet the needed course requirements for a Career Cluster. Some classes are grade level specific. If attending the Russellville Area Technology Center, you need to have three or four elective class slots available in that years schedule to attend. Four slots – attend in the morning. Three slots – attend in the afternoon. Need to pass all required graduation classes to ensure that sufficient slots are available to attend RATC.
