Internal usage only Nestle Chembong – IND780 Q.i System Overview

Internal usage only  ControlLogix PLC will handle Recipe from HMI – PC  Only one component is being filled at one time  Feed command is issued by the ControlLogix PLC through the AIM interface driver to the IND780 Q.i terminal utilizing a ControlNet connection  The IND780 Q.i terminal controls the material transfer for each component using patented, auto tuning Predictive Adaptive Control feed algorithms (PAC algorithms)  Feed status information is returned by the IND780 Q.i terminal to the ControlLogix PLC through the AIM interface driver and the same ControlNet connection  The screw conveyor cut off is controlled by the Final Control Element (FCE) output in the IND780 Q.i terminal. The FCE is connected directly to VSD / inverter enable / Run signal  At the same time, the FCE and fast feed discrete outputs from the IND780 Q.i terminal are connected to ControlLogix’s discrete inputs  From the FCE and fast feed signals, ControlLogix will manipulate 4~20 mA signal to control VSD’s speed  Each component will have unique material path configuration feed parameters in the IND780 Q.i terminal and ControlLogix PLC (4~20 mA settings)  The IND780 Q.i terminal updates it’s material path feed parameters after every component feed. These parameter updates are then used by the PAC algorithm for the next component feed and optimized control of the FCE (fast and accurate fill) Nestle Chembong – IND780 Q.i Data Brief

Internal usage only Overall:  ~ 50 Batches of actual Batching was performed under 780 Qi mode.  System is still under testing and commissioning.  More testing is required to finalize material path setting. Throughput:  Overall system batching time has been reduced from ~ 6 minutes per batch to ~ 5 minutes per batch.  This is ~ 17 % reduction of overall batching time. Accuracy:  For high capacity target, system is performing well.  Having accuracy within ~ 1 kg.  For low capacity target with low density material, process / system performance still affecting the final accuracy.  System is been modified and need further testing and tuning to enhance final accuracy.
