Open Systems (1960s) Open systems are made up of subsystems that create homeostatsis for the organism. Mapping the environment requires sensing and assigning meaning to symbolic Information Imprints parts of the environment onto the organization. Symbolic  Motivation & Communication Feedback allows system to change goals “on the fly”
