Presentation transcript:

By: Jitesh Vemula

Once upon a time there lived a boy named Conner. He is really good at mathematics. He was preparing for a test. He knew he lost his pencil and he had zero pencils. He had a friend named Joe. He asked Joe if he could have a pencil. Joe was not in a good mood. In his frustration he said “You have to pay $1.” Conner was stunned but saw the anger in Joes face. Conner said “I don’t have a dollar but I do have 15 cents.” Joe said “Fine I will give you the pencil right now but you owe me 85 cents. If you don’t bring it tomorrow 10 cents extra.” Conner said “Ok.”. Chapter 1

The next day Conner was fully prepared for the test. He was to nervous to think about the deal that Conner and Joe made. During the test he remembered the deal. He met Joe at recess by the trash can. Conner said “I forgot to bring the money so its 10 cents extra. Which means { = -95}.” Joe said “Ok.” The next day Conner brought the money and they were solving the problem. Then suddenly while solving the problem Joe said “Can have your Yo-Yo.” Conner saw the eagerness in his eyes and said “You have to pay me 50 cents.” Joe said ok. Chapter 2

During that evening, Conner changed his mind and thought about telling Joe that he has to 80 cents instead of 50 cents. The next day Conner met Joe the same place they met last time. Joe was about to get the money out of his pocket and then suddenly Conner said “I changed my mind. So now you have to give me 80 cents instead of 50 cents.” Joe was sad but said “Ok.” The next day Joe brought 80 cents. At recess Conner still thinking about changing the price. So Joe said “I brought 80 cents now did you bring the Yo-Yo?” Conner said yes but he also said “You have to give me 10 cents.” Chapter 3

Joe asked why. Conner said “Because its tax.” Joe was so angry but controlled his anger and said “This means { = -90].” Conner said yes. After school Joe thought that Conner was mean but understood his anger against him. The next day Joe brought the right money and the problem was solved and they were best friends. While walking home both of them though that was one huge mathematic problem. Chapter 4
