Natural Sources of Water

Water Water is a natural resource that is found on and around every continent.

The gray parts on this map show us where land is located. The large chunks of land are called continents. One continent is not shown. South America North America Africa Europe Asia Australia Antarctica

The white parts on this map that are surrounding the land, or continents, are where the oceans are located. Arctic Ocean Pacific Ocean Atlantic Ocean Indian Ocean Southern Ocean

Water on the land can be found as: a lake,

an ocean,

a river,

a stream,

a pond,

or in a glacier.

Water can be “fresh” or “salty Water can be “fresh” or “salty” Fresh water is found in ponds, streams, rivers, and most lakes. Salty water is found in the ocean and some lakes.

Natural Sources of Water in Texas Here is a map of Texas. There is one natural lake in Texas: Caddo Lake in North East Texas. There are nearly 200 man made lakes.

Which river is closest to you? The longest river in Texas is the Rio Grande (1,254 miles), and the shortest river in Texas is the Comal (just under three miles).
