March Theme The Godhead Jesus Son of God - Son of Man Matthew 16:16

Jesus is God John 1:1-4, 14, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Jesus is God How we view Jesus IS important! - His nature relevant to numerous doctrines - Some deny His deity - Some see Him as created - Some see Him as one of many - Some see Him as a prophet We need to understand this BEFORE we make the “good confession” Acts 8:37 John 8:24 Rom. 10:9-10

Jesus is God Jesus claimed to be God John 8:58 – “Before Abraham was, I AM” ( Ex. 3:13-14 ) John 10:30, “I and My Father are One” Matt. 26:62-66

Jesus is God Jesus PROVED He was God He accepted worship – Matt. 2:11, 14:33, 28:9, 17 John 9:38 He forgave sins – Mark 2:5-7, (Isa. 43:25), Lk. 7:47-48 Miracles – John 10:24-25

Jesus is God Jesus PROVED He was God The “fourfold witness” – John 5: John the Baptist - His works - The Father - Moses and scripture His virgin birth ( Isa. 7:14 )

Jesus is God Jesus Declared to be God Romans 1:4 Colossians 1:17 1 Tim. 3:16 Heb. 1:1-4

Jesus, Son of God Father/Son relationship John 14:28 Matthew 17:5 John 5:17,18

Jesus, Son of God IF Jesus is the son of God, how can we say He was not created? The problem lies with human reasoning… AND confusing the nature (deity) of Jesus (His soul) and His incarnation (coming to this earth in flesh)

Jesus, Son of God Jesus was God on earth! John 1:1-4 Phil. 2:5-6 – He did not consider it robbery to be equal with God

Jesus, Son of God Jesus was Man on earth! John 1:14 – the Word became flesh Rom. 8:3 – likeness of sinful flesh Heb. 2:14 - Flesh…He Himself likewise shared in the same

Jesus, Son of God “Son of God” & “Son of Man” address His NATURE while on earth. “Son of God” – deity (more than 50x of Jesus in NT) “Son of man” – humanity (about 80x in NT)

Jesus, Son of God Jesus surrendered His equality with God for our sakes 1 Cor. 11:3 1 Cor. 15:27-28 Phil. 2:7-8 John 6:38-40

Jesus, Son of God 1 John 3:8, “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

Jesus came to this earth so that we might be saved? Has He accomplished that in YOUR life?
