The Institute of Physics l The Institute of Physics is a leading scientific society promoting physics and bringing physicists together for the benefit of all. l Around members in UK, Ireland and worldwide l school students, university students, academics, professionals in business and industry, retired and others interested in physics

The Institute of Physics – what we do l support physics education l exert influence and raise the profile of physics l provide access to professional scientific communications l strive to ensure the strongest research base in physics and strongest application of knowledge in physics l engage with physicists from all sectors and all those interested in physics

Schools grant scheme The aim of the scheme is to provide schools with grants of up to £500 for projects or events linked to the teaching or promotion of physics or engineering. Projects linked to astronomy, space and particle physics are particularly encouraged, as are those relating to engineering in areas such as energy, transport, information & communications, design & production and the built environment.

Elegibility Grants can be used to support a range of projects, for example: running a school/college based science week activity purchasing materials/resources outside of the normal department resources organising a visit to or from a working physicist or engineer The scheme is open to all UK educational institutions (schools and colleges) catering for pupils/students in the age range 5-19.
