Utilization of State Hospital Bed Allocation 29 beds per day allocated by The Dept. of State Health Services to hospitalize persons at state hospitals, primarily San Antonio State Hospital. 34 beds used per day, 80% of whom are coming from the Nueces County jail. Our utilization of persons coming from jail is the highest in the state. Held harmless for using more than allocation in FY 13, but could be penalized $50 per day for each day over the allocation effective Sept 1, 2013—based on current utilization = $120,000.
