ANCP Framework & Protocol Direction taken to streamline completion of ANCP Framework and Protocol drafts: –Proceed with items that have gained WG agreement or are generally understood –Address future extensibility Gaps –Open WG ACTION without much progress since Vancouver. –Without specific proposals on the list, the items will be classed under possible future extensions

ANCP gaps Are requirements for any of the following ANCP and WT- 147 v1.7 high gaps not clear? –Topology Discovery Access Node Uplink –Access Port Configuration Allows configuration of parameters beyond the DSL modem train rate, eg ACLs, VLAN assignment,.1p mapping parameters, policer Opening and closing of access loop –Multicast Assignment of multicast VLAN Periodic membership reporting Other gap (from WG alias) –Link bundling –…

ANCP Design Team (DT) Will be missing the March 2008 target for a complete proposal Suggestions for facilitating progress: –Regular conference calls –Divide & conquer with prioritization? Multicast control (solicited/unsolicited); Reporting; List configuration; Flow grouping. –DTs (Rough) Consensus proposals to be sent to the WG without delay. Goal would be to have the DTs protocol proposals discussion/feedback on the WG mailing list before IETF72
