Don’t follow the pattern of the world.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

worldliness - the system of practices and standards associated with society with no consideration of God.

Fortune

faithful in use of possessions to bless others and honestly grow wealth

1 John 3:17 But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?

Acts 20:35 ‘…remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

Colossians 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

Fame

used of God with skills He has given

Power

faithful in little things

Pleasure

worship God; enjoy God’s gifts

Hebrews 11:25 [Moses] chose to suffer with the people of God rather than to enjoy the short-lived pleasure of sin.

2 Timothy 3:4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…

1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.

Follow the pattern of your Savior.

Read the Word. Memorize the Word. Meditate on the Word. Pray the Word.

Prove that God’s plan is best.
