Who are we? APTLD (Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association) is an organization for ccTLD (country-code Top Level Domain) registries in Asia Pacific region. originally established in 1998, and in 2003 legally established in Malaysia.

Objectives To promote skills development and information exchange related to Internet domain names amongst members To provide a forum to discuss policy matters affecting Internet domain name related entities To act as an interface with Internet coordination bodies and other bodies involved in the Internet domain name operation

backgorund Four regional organizations: AFTLD, APTLD, CENTR, LACTLD The objectives of all regional organizations are to promote and participate in the development of high standard of Internet Country Code Top-Level Domain Registries (ccTLDs) for the benefit of its members and the Internet. The organizations have their own regional focus.

continue APTLD will achieve its objectives through consensus building, coordination and collaboration; respecting cultural and historical variations amongst the ccTLDs and their Local Internet Communities. APTLD is based on membership, and its activities are funded by membership fees.

17 Registration Policy All respondents applied first-come-first- serve policy for domain names registration. All replies said they do not require the domain name to correspond with the name of the domain name holder in any way. Over 90% of them said domain names registered are transferrable.
