This is Red Hen.

She lives on a farm.

Red Hen has some chicks. They go chick chick here and chick chick there.

Here is a dog. His name is Ruff. Ruff goes woof woof here and woof woof there.

Nobody comes near Red Hen and the chicks !

Red Hen goes to look for some food. We are hungry, Mommy.

This is Sly fox. I see Red Hen.

The dog is asleep. I can catch Red Hen now.

Sly Fox follows Red Hen. He has a bag.

I’ll have a barbecued chicken. I’ll have some chicken soup. I ’ll have a chicken sandwich. Yummy!

What are you looking for, Red Hen? I am looking for some food. I have some in my bag.

Red Hen looks into the bag. Help!

Red Hen is in the bag. Sly Fox runs home. Home we go.

Sly Fox is home now. He is very tired. He falls asleep.

The chicks are crying. Where is your mommy? She is not home. She is looking for some food. We are very hungry.

I ’ll go look for her.

Ruff sniffs and sniffs. Finally, he finds Sly Fox’s house.

Red Hen is in the house. I have to get her out.

Ruff opens the bag and saves Red Hen. Shh! Come and help me.

They throw Sly Fox into a pot of boiling water. Ow! He jumps out and runs away.

On the way, a farmer gives a bag of grain to Ruff and Red Hen. They take it home.

The chicks are happy to see their mother. They eat the grain.
