Many people enjoy watching figure skating and ice skating competitions. Champion figure skaters and trick skaters also thrill crowds at colourful ice shows. In addition, people enjoy playing or watching ice hockey, a fast sport in which players wear ice skates. Figure skating takes place on the ice rink only.

Olympic figure skaters wear boots that are custom-made for each foot and heavily reinforced with thick, stiff leather interiors and extra ankle bracing. Figure skaters also wear a custom made costume or dress.

The events are Men's figure skating singles, women's figure skating singles, pairs and team ice dancing.

Figure skating is judged by performance in team dancing it is judged by team synchronization and overall performance.
