A stock is a tiny share in the ownership of a company.

You make money in two basic ways

1. Once you own stock you are a in the company. 1. Once you own stock you are a shareholder in the company.

This entitles you to dividends or a percentage of the companies profits

2. You make money if you buy the stocks at a low price and sell at a higher price.
