What Is Transformational Ministry?

What It’s Not:  Quick fix for church woes  A sure fire kit to energize your ministry  A one size fits all tool.

What It Is:  A new way to live and grow in ministry.  A way to understand and use better the resources already available to you.  A ministry that incorporates ongoing review and coaching.

The mission of the Transformational Ministry Team is to remove the barriers and open up the church for all people to come to Christ. MISSION STATEMENT

What makes Transformational Ministry different from other church growth fads?  It is individually crafted for and by each congregation.  It focuses on the blessings already within reach of the congregation.  It is not a one time and done exercise. It calls the congregation into ongoing development.  It is a full congregational effort.

Transformational Ministry is Relational  It connects the “Great Commandment” with the “Great Commission.”  It sees scripture as both inspirational and instructional and as an integral part of the process.  It is a covenantal relationship.  It brings the congregation into closer relationship to its community.  It calls for congregations to work and celebrate together.

What Are the Key Ingredients to Transformational Ministry?  Covenantal relationship among congregation, staff, and coach.  Thorough survey of assets and deficits.  Ongoing scriptural education and commitment to development.  Incorporating change as a natural process in ministry.

Birth Rebirth Development Hospice Death Transformation Maturity Decline

Elementary Physics: A body at rest tends to stay at rest… unless the following formula is valid. Dissatisfaction + Vision + Concrete Action > Cost Warning: Cost can be real or perceived.

What’s God up to? What’s our Community up to? What should we be up to?

Evaluate Discover Implement Cycles of Ministry

Covenant and Coaching At the heart of Transformational Ministry is a covenant and a coach.  The covenant brings clarity and commitment to Transformational Ministry.  The coach brings a fresh perspective, a menu of tools to assist in the process, and a sense of accountability to see the cycle through.

Coaching A coach will be assigned to each congregation and will work with the congregational leadership as they work on the following objectives: 1.A capacity assessment of the congregation 2.A thorough SWOT analysis 3.A comprehensive study of the demographics of the congregation and the community 4.The building or revising of the Mission Statement 5.The establishment and execution of an action plan for ministry. 6.Periodic evaluation and revision of the plan. 7.Celebrating the new life of the church.

Transformational Ministry Can Bring New Joy to Your Journey in Faith Together.
