INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS PRESENTATION ~OLYMPIC HOTELS ~ INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS PRESENTATION ~OLYMPIC HOTELS ~ NEW GENERATION VILLAGE OF THE GREEK OLYMPIC SPIRIT BY IOANNA MANTZOURIDOU - ONASI

INDEX INDEX What is sustainability? Globalization and sustainability What is a sustainable business? Why does a need of such a project exists? What do we aim to achieve with the Olympic hotels? What activities are going to take place in the village-hotels? How are we going to promote it?

QUOTES… “We cannot hope to create a sustainable culture with any but sustainable souls” -Derrick Jensen “The greatest challenge of the 21 st century is to raise people everywhere to a decent standard of living while preserving as much of the rest life as possible” -Edward Wilson

GENERALLY ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY SUSTAIN = MAINTAIN, ENDURE IT MEANS: CAPABLE OF BEING CONTINUED WITH MINIMAL LONG-TERM EFFECT ON THE ENVIRONMENT. SUSTAINABILITY IS THE RESULT OF BALANCING THE 1)ECONOMY 2)SOCIETY 3)ENVIRONMENT LIVING SUSTAINABLY IS ABOUT LIVING WITHIN THE MEANS OF OUR NATURAL SYSTEMS (ENVIRONMENT) AND ENSURING THAT OUR LIFESTYLE DOESN’T HARM OTHER PEOPLE (SOCIETY).

GENERALLY ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY “SUSTAINABILITY CREATES AND MAINTAINS THE CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH HUMANS AND NATURE CAN EXIST IN PRODUCTIVE HARMONY THAT PERMITS FULFILING THE SOCIAL, ECONOMIC AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS OF PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS.” WHAT IS SUSTAINABILITY FOR A GOOD CONSUMER? IT IS FOR EVERYONE!

HOW IS SUSTAINABILITY CONNECTED WITH THE ECONOMY?

~ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY~ WHAT DOES IT PROVIDE? IT IS THE TERM USED TO IDENTIFY VARIOUS STRATEGIES THAT MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO USE AVAILABLE RESOURCES TO THEIR BEST ADVANTEGE. THE IDEA IS TO PROMOTE THE USE OF THOSE RESOURCES IN A WAY WHICH IS BOTH EFFICIENT AND RESPONSIBLE, AND LIKELY TO PROVIDE LONG-TERM BENEFITS. IN THE CASE OF A BUSINESS OPERATION, IT CALLS FOR USING RESOURCES SO THAT THE BUSINESS CONTINUES TO FUNCTION OVER A NUMBER OF YEARS, WHILE CONSISTENLY RETURNING A PROFIT.

SUSTAINABILITY + MOST IMPORTANT ADVANTAGES Consumers get much wider variety of products to choose from. Consumers get the product they want at more competitive prices. Companies get access to much wider markets. It promotes understanding and goodwill among different countries. Businesses and investors get much wider opportunities for investment.

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT? GLOBILIZATION IS PERCEIVED AS CREATING NEW THREATS TO THE INDIVIDUALS, SOCIETIES AND ECO-SYSTEMS. OTHER DISADVATAGES ARE: Developed countries can stifle development of undeveloped and under-developed countries. Economic depression in one country can trigger adverse reaction across the globe. It can increase spread of communicable diseases. Companies face much greater competition. This can put smaller companies, at a disadvantage as they do not have resources to compete at global scale. IN ORDER FOR THE GLOBILIZATION TO BE ONLY BENEFICIAL IT NEEDS TO BE TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY!!

SUSTAINABLE BUSINESSES NEEDED!!! FOR EXAMPLE: “OLYMPIC HOTELS” AMBASSADOR OF GREECE Educate the youth from an early age how to live a sustainable life and take care of the environment. Educate entrepreneurs and businessmen on creating eco-friendly companies. Having volunteers and investors only from eco- companies, so us to promote the sustainable development. Develop the new area economics. Make something that will actually stay for years and be innovators of this idea. Help Greece by promoting it and raising its tourism. WHAT DO WE ACHIEVE?

OUR COSTUMERS? Our Customers will be the world’s citizens. Humanity will be our customer. Schools, students, but also anyone, from every country will be accommodated. Youth will become sensitized spiritually and educated accordingly from an early age and adults will either wake up or be neutralized of their negative impact. The village Organization will be International like the environment and humanity is today. It will also be a project that can be established and developed in any country. “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty. Our goal is to educate both young and older people around the continent, regarding the sustainable way of living, the philosophy of the original human spirit and the right path for our human civilization as it has been teached and will repeatedly be teached by both ancient, as well as tomorrow’s Greek society

PROMOTION? “You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.“You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.” TV: 1) Do you think you are familiar with the Greek spirit, culture, cuisine and hospitality? … etc. + advertisements from basketball, football players and actors 2)Via our investors, as they will advertise us, too. 3)Travelling agencies, the best place to go during the whole year 4)Universities & schools, arrange tours. + summer programs 5)International Conference as far as economic and environmental issues are concerned. (accommodate these people) 6)Greek restaurants. 7)Shopping mall 8)Fashion shows with recycled clothes DEGRECO Our website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RESOURCES? “Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver.” Ayn Rand Ayn Rand Resources and funds will be gathered by the contributions of eco-friendly businesses and national, international or private organizations and investors, that wish to promote their green products, interests, services or knowledge within our Organization. ANNUAL MAGAZINE Will include every project, activity, conference held each year. Will advertise our investors, volunteers and funders. Will include the winners of each competition. Will have photos of the campus and details. Special offers for school tours and also the educational activities that we do for each age. A part will be again to promote our country. Also, guests and costumers comments.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION! “A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business.” Henry Ford WE can demonstrate how to combine the survival of Society, by creating a Real-Valuable Product and gaining a Real-Valuable Profit, through an Authentic Sustainable Business Venture. With a sustainable business like this we can become the example of all future businesses and hope for a sustainable WORLD.
