PowerPoint Presentations August 15, 2007; Foege 130; 8:30 am-1:30 pm Abstracts are due August 3 (Friday; noon). Get mentor signoff! Get mentor signoff! Use template. Program (order of presentations) will be available on August 8 (Wednesday). Final PPT must be submitted no later than noon, August 13 (Monday) -- send by or Flash drive. All PPTs will be uploaded to a single computer. You can review your PPT anytime after you submit it.

PowerPoint Presentations August 15, 2007; Foege 130; 8:30 am-1:30 pm Dress is “business causal.” Talk: 10 min. in length. Followed by 5 min. questions. (~ 1 slide per minute) I will serve as moderator and will: 1.Introduce you. 2.Time your presentation. 3.Ask for audience questions. 4.Cut you off if you go past your time.

Poster Presentations August 16, 2007; MGH; 9 am- 12:00 pm Dress is “business causal.” Abstracts are due August 3 (Friday, noon). This is the same abstract as your PPT abstract. Final poster should be sent to the Locke Computer Center by August 10 (Friday). Make sure your mentor has reviewed your poster. X

Poster Construction Refer to handout 1.Use PPT to create a single 56” x 36” slide. 2.Use NSF, UWEB, UW logos on your poster. 3.Note grant number (NSF EEC )

JURIBE Paper Final paper due January 31, All paperwork must be submitted (Author Warranty and Advisor Approval Form, Transfer of Copyright Form, figures). Follow instructions for authors! Note: reference format / headings / abbreviations. Submit electronically as a WORD document and also send Janet a hardcopy of the paper.

JURIBE Paper Do’s and Don’ts No COLOR in figures and tables. Submit figures and tables at the END of your paper. Make sure font size can be read when your figures are reduced in size. Spell out “Figure” and “Table” in the text. Do not use “Fig.” or “Tab.” References should be in brackets, e.g., [2] or [17,26] In reference list, the citations should be listed alphabetically. Do not use “et al.” Use proper headings, e.g., 1. INTRODUCTION / 2. MATERIALS AND METHODS / 3. RESULTS / 4. DISCUSSION ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS / REFERENCES  no numbers

The 3 Ps Know the deadlines  meet the deadlines. Know the instructions  follow the instructions. If you have questions, ask!
