Literacy unit plans with specific ICT outcomes units model use of ICT to support fiction, non-fiction and poetry Aim was to support practitioners requiring further support planning for literacy over blocks of time and to model the integration of ICT ICT is used where it will support the achievement of the learning outcomes, it is not present in every exemplified unit – only where it would significantly support the learning outcomes and meet the needs of the chosen audience and purpose The units range in their challenge for both children and teachers in the application of ICT some are more appropriate for confident users of ICT looking to extend their practice others model the use of basic software in creative contexts for learning. Emphasis is on the use of ICT to inspire pupils, support understanding of the way texts are constructed and use visual images, moving images, sounds and writing to create texts

Secure knowledge of number facts which can be recalled quickly and used and applied appropriately. Calculate efficiently and accurately. Position and transform shapes, recognising and use their properties to visualise and construct. Measure accurately using appropriate units, interpret and compare scales.
