Transition Activities Elementary schools visit Keigwin Incoming parent orientation Mrs. Koff and Mr. Fournier meet with fifth grade teachers to review information sheets Mr. Fournier visits schools to discuss plans for students with IEPs Parents invited to June 1 meeting of Keigwin PTO Summer mailing Student academic data reviewed Beginning of Grade 6 -Fall Open House

Team Structure Creates smaller communities of learners- (75 students / 5 teams) Three academic teachers per semester Allows teachers to better get to know students Provides feeling of identity within team. Allows students to develop new friendships Enables teachers to design flexible schedules, if needed Increases collaboration on lessons and instructional units Provides for development of academic and behavioral improvement plans Improves support and communication between school and home
