Historical Background – Originally established in 1998 BoF on ccTLD during APRICOT Manila APccTLD Meeting in INET Geneva, which confirmed the name “APTLD” – Legally established (incorporation) in Malaysia in 2003

Objectives A FORUM of information exchange regarding technological and operational issues of domain name registries in Asia Pacific region An INTERFACE to other international Internet coordinating bodies, APTLD fosters and elevates participation of AP ccTLDs in these global fora Acting in the BEST INTEREST of APTLD members in global Internet policy making process

Membership Types – APTLD membership is open to all those interested in domain name issues – There are two types of membership Ordinary Member Associate Member

Ordinary Member – Ordinary Membership is open to organisations from all countries and economies from the Asia-Pacific region that manage and operate any of the ccTLD registries of the AP.

Associate Member – Associate Membership is open, at the discretion of the APTLD Board, to any individual, company, firm, organisation within AP region that are involved in domain names related activities.
