S UMMARIES OF THE E VIDENCE

C OCHRANE DATABASE OF SYSTEMATIC REVIEWS Created by the Cochrane Collaboration. Small collection of reviews on the effects of health care. Reviews generally focus on patient treatment and therapy issues. Stringent protocols are applied to each review. Individual documents take a long time to develop because of the intensive review process.

G OANNA B RIGGS INSTITUTE Australian based nursing oriented Evidence- based resource. Provides access to a very limited number of resources without payment, a charge is required for access to others. An international collaboration of 200 researchers, clinicians, academics and quality managers.

A HRQ E VIDENCE REPORTS Provide directions for handling certain clinical conditions. Guidelines often published by specialty societies, i.e. American Heart Association, American Academy of Pediatrics.

N ATIONAL G UIDELINES C LEARINGHOUSE Produced by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the AMA and The American Association of Health Plans. Provides summaries of each guideline and the development process. Provides links to full-text guidelines, if available, and/or ordering information for print copies.

ACP J OURNAL CLUB Produced by the American College of Physicians. Provides access to over 2000 critical appraisals of clinical research articles. Editors screen top clinical journals for relevant, methodologically sound studies

Bandolier Bandolier is an independent journal about evidence-based healthcare published in the UK. It includes "information about evidence of effectiveness (or lack of it), and put[s] the results forward as simple bullet points of those things that worked and those that did not. Information comes from systematic reviews, meta-analyses, randomised trials, and from high quality observational studies."
