FTS Health & Wellness “We Change Lives”

Take Control of Your Health As our health care system evolves, many questions remain. What are the impacts of our changing healthcare system? Will future retirees continue to be covered by Medicare? Amidst these questions, one thing is certain – Chronic disease is on the rise! Specific Behaviors Contribute to Illness and Chronic Disease. Stress is a Major Contributor to Illness and Disease.

Health concerns grow Recently, the Council on State Governments met and drafted a report entitled “State Official’s Guide to Wellness.” In this report they predicted that: “By 2030, the number of Americans suffering from a chronic disease will reach 171 million. Between 2000 and 2030, the number of Americans with chronic conditions will increase by 37%” Our Approach Clinical and Stress/Emotional Health Risk Biometric Testing Profile Assessment

Taking control of your body Chronic Diseases are Preventable Chronic diseases are the most common and costly of all health problems, but they are also the most preventable. Four common, health-damaging, but modifiable behaviors—tobacco use, insufficient physical activity, poor eating habits, and excessive alcohol use - are responsible for much of the illness, disability, and premature death related to chronic diseases. Chronic diseases cause 7 in 10 deaths each year in the United States More than 75% of health care costs are due to chronic conditions National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion “Poor choices and unhealthy lifestyles can lead to additional risk factors such as obesity, high cholesterol, high glucose levels, elevated blood pressure, and other clinical abnormalities. Left unaddressed, these risk factors then result in costly and deadly chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, COPD and many others.” Employee wellness significantly affects a company’s profitability.
