BROWNFIELD SITES “Abandoned, idled or underused industrial and commercial properties where expansion or redevelopment is complicated by real or perceived environmental contamination." Examples: – old industrial sites – commercial buildings – former service stations – warehouses – abandoned railroads – air strips.

RAIN GARDENS A garden in a low spot that catches and slows storm water. Allowed to infiltrate into the soil with the help of deep-rooted plants that like water. The garden is planted in a shallow basin. Filters pollutants from the runoff
