A virus is a virus (lat: poison) Replication: a replicating biochemical complex without its own metabolism requires metabolism of living host cell for replication Structure: Submicroscopic Size, 30 - 150 nm (exception:orthopox) Genome: contains genetic information, DNA or RNA
