A Safe Place to Heal A proposal for transforming the lives of adult ladies of sexual trafficking by Redeeming Joy,” A Safe Place to Heal” a Survivor Led Trauma Informed Restoration Home.

Defend the weak and fatherless; Uphold the causes of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked. Psalm 82:3-4

Introduction In a country known as the “Land of the Free” can we still have slavery? It is hard to believe but, YES. Sex trafficking is a multi-billion dollar industry and “The Land of the Free” is not exempt from it’s evil. These ladies are trapped in a life of misery-often beaten, forced into drugs, forced to work as prostitutes, starved and forced to be with men a day-their lives are no longer their own. The Need Less than 1% of those who are trafficked are rescued, that is NOT acceptable. Redeeming Joy believes we can be a part of the solution. It is our mission to restore and empower women who have been sexually exploited to regain the lives, overcome their past and grow to become confident of their God-given worth and value. We want to meet the ladies where they are and share with them a hope that we can help them get out of this lifestyle if they want to. We understand that drugs and psychological issues are present and often the hope that they can recover from these keeps them from finding the much needed help they need to be free. Redeeming Joy is one of the few homes that will offer substance abuse treatment and psychological services.

A Community Effort The vision of “A Safe Place to Heal” is to offer a home that is a Safe Place to Heal offering, housing, food, clothing, medical care, mental health services, goal based programs, trauma informed, survivor led and faith based programs. The traumas, hurts and needs of sex trafficked victims are understandably complex. To see these ladies set free from these wounds and live independent healthy lives takes a multi-service approach. Through our current partnership with professional providers, future partnerships, business support and a committed community we are confident that together we can become a means of healing for these ladies. We can be a part of seeing victims take courageous steps towards freedom, redemption and wholeness. WOULD YOU CONSIDERING JOINING OUR EFFORT?
