Scotland  We have a free health care system for all residents and are permitted to be in the UK.  The NHS (National Health Service) covers all of the cost with grants from the government.  Only dental care costs you money, from the age of 18+ Norway  Norway also has a free health care system for all residents.  The Norwegian Government covers all costs.  And like Scotland you pay for dental care from the age of 18. Hospitals and buying medicines Differences

Hungary  Free hospital medical treatment (if you have a job and insurance)  No card is needed  One state-insurance system (political reasons)  The government gives money to hospitals (sometimes you have to wait for surgery) Germany  Not totally free hospital treatment if you have an insurance (you have to pay 10 Euros per day you stay in hospital)  for medicine you have to pay a small percentage of the price even when you have an insurance, the insurance doesn’t cover medicine you can buy without prescription Hospitals and buying medicines Differences

Bulgaria  You must pay for medical treatment in hospitals after you are 18.  No card is required.  Health Insurance is provided with certain jobs.  You can visit your dentist three times a year for free but, you must pay after you have gone more than three times. Belgium  Hospitals are not free  Insurance card: you get money back at pharmacy  Different insurances (political reasons)  You do not have to wait for surgery.
