Flashback… Factors: numbers you can multiply together to get products Ex.1: 1,2,3,4,6,12 are factors of 12 Common factor- a factor that is shared by 2 or more numbers Ex.2: 15 and 18 15: 1,3,5, 15 18: 1,2,3,6,9,18

GREATEST Common Factor- GCF- the largest of the common factors 2 Methods: 1. List all the factors 2. Use prime factorization- (factor trees) Prime Numbers: can be divided evenly only by 1 and itself

Example 1: List all factors Find the GCF of 16 and 24 Factors of 16: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 Factors of 24: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24 The GCF of 16 and 24 is 8.
