What resources are produced? The resource can be used when you harness the energy of the tide. A resource that can be generated from this energy is tidal stream energy. Another resource is hydrokinetic energy; they are turbine like systems and include both horizontal and vertical axis. Uses of this technology both in- land and offshore ocean will both be beneficial. Although the tidal current and the flow of river streams and axial-flow turbine are vital.

Is this resource renewable? The ocean provides a vast source of potential energy resources, and a renewable energy investment in ocean energy are likely to keep growing. The energy in flowing river, streams, and tidal currents or other artificial water channels is considered as useful resource of renewable power. Massive amounts of energy are stored in the ocean that are able to be used. It is significant that we do not prohibit this very promising clean energy use. This is a lasting resources for future generations to have energy.

Cost of resource Tidal energy may already be economically feasible for limited sites, and as research continues, costs of ocean energy are likely to drop to competitive levels. Therefore allowing the energy source to become commercialized and more possible.

Positive aspects of this energy Positive aspects-it is renewable (the gravitational fields from the sun and the moon won’t disappear), it is green (no climate gases are emitted and it does not take up space), tidal currents are predictable (they are on cycles so it makes it easier to determine what type of powers the equipment will be exposed to). The energy is more effective at low speeds (water has a higher density than air), it is long-lived (tidal energy is still producing large amounts of energy making it cost-competitive), is not expensive to maintain

Negative aspects Some Negative aspects- the environmental effect that the barrages have on the oceans is similar to the effects a hydroelectric dam has, the tidal power plants have to be constructed close to land (solutions are being made to exploit weaker tidal currents at locations that are farther away from land.

The science behind this resource a.) Energy is gathered from the tides going in and out (10 hours each day) b.) The energy that is gathered from the tides is stored to power electricity for more than the 10 hours that the energy is being gathered. c.) Tidal energy does not produce any waste by-products. d.) Tidal energy is very expensive to build, and it can only be built in coastal regions where natural disasters could affect it.

Background info Because of the increase of pollution and lack of energy in many areas of the world, Tidal energy is sure to be one of the best ways of energy. To date, 260MW are installed worldwide in only a few sites: La Rance estuary, France (240MW) Bay of Fundy, Canada (8MW)
