Hawaii as a colony- Why U.S.? By: Abriana NorrisHistory US class December 1, 2014

My questions What is that about? How did they took that area? Why did the United State want Hawaii as a colony?

Why did the U.S. want Hawaii as a colony? The United States wanted their land for agriculture. The U.S. wanted to keep a naval base (Pearl Harbor) within Hawaii to make the U.S. stronger in trade and war, by making Hawaii a fuel rest stop. Hawaii was a weak country, being pressured by several countries. The United States used their military to protect Hawaii but literally gave Hawaii demands at gunpoint.

This is a home of Hawaiian Leg named Ali’iolani Hale that completed on Hawaii was one of plum. Ali'iolani Hale is a building located in Honolulu.
