Proverbs 12:26 The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray.

1. If we want to maintain a good friendship then we must also be friendly. Proverbs 18:24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly,

2. We must treat our friends with humility and not act like we are better than them. Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

3. We must respect the privacy of our friends and never tell their secrets to others. Proverbs 17:9 He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates friends.

4. If we are true friends, we will always be there for our friend. Proverbs 27:10 Do not forsake your own friend or your father's friend

5. If we want to help our friend grow into spiritual maturity, we must refrain from false flattery and give them the truth instead. Proverbs 28:23 He who rebukes a man will find more favor afterward Than he who flatters with the tongue.

2 Timothy 3:12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

Luke 6:26 Woe to you when all men speak well of you, For so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Proverbs 16:7 When a man's ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
