Mary Shelley, born August 30, 1797, was a prominent, though often overlooked, literary figure during the Romantic Era of English Literature. She was the only child of Mary Wollstonecraft, the famous feminist, and William Godwin, a philosopher and novelist. She was also the wife of the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. Mary's parents were shapers of the Romantic sensibility and the revolutionary ideas of the left wing. Mary, Shelley, Byron, and Keats were principle figures in Romanticism's second generation. Whereas the poets died young in the 1820's, Mary lived through the Romantic era into the Victorian.

In the novel, the main character is Dr. Frankenstein. He fails to set up right principle of life. Thus, his extreme personality leads to his abuse of scientific knowledge. For a long time, he always wants to make a creating a superhuman species. After he has a try, finally, he creates a really monster successfully. However, because the monster is created by many dismembered bodies, he looks very ugly and terrible. Therefore, Dr. Frankenstein begins to fear and abandons him cruelly. Actually, although the monster looks ugly, he is very kind and longs for love. However,being rejected and teased for a long time, he starts to hate others. After Dr. Frankenstein refusing his request to make a spouse for him, angry and disappointed, he starts his crazy revenge. He kills Dr. Frankenstein’s parents, son and his wife. At last, after Dr. Frankenstein ‘s death, the monster feels so sorry that he dies with his creator.

warning post-industrial society about the explosion of scientific knowledge and its potential misapplication and the subsequent dehumanization of mankind. From my point of view,In Frankenstein, Shelley’s real purpose is to ask who exactly the real monster is. 1800s ?! !! Industrial Revolution

a)Every coin has two sides. All the scientists should treat science and technology seriously and use the technology correctly. What’s more, no matter what form of the experiment is, the most thing should be the respect to morality. b)Don’t judge others just by their appearances. Compared to a good appearance, the more important thing is the morality and knowledge.

c) we surely cannot foresee the results of our action and most of the time things are contrary to our wishes. On this occasion, we should never escape or give up our principles. Just take the responsibility and make a firm path. d) Frankenstein is the true demon. The monster was created by him, but he didn’t take responsibility for it. He just blindly hated it, abandoned it and kept himself away from it because it was so ugly and horrible. So it was so unfair to the monster. This is just like that parents abandon the child because he is disabled.

e)Some machines we have invented are just like the monster, having caused so many problems as well as some benefits. In fact, as we are asking for profit from technology crazily, technology also takes revenge on us. f)Never lose your heart, never lose your faith, never lose your way. Hold on to your love, hold on to your humanity, count all your blessings.
