Program Accreditation The UTTC Associate of Applied Science in Practical Nursing Program is accredited by: National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission 61 Broadway New York, NY The program is approved by: North Dakota Board of Nursing

Career Opportunities Practical Nurses are employed in settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, home health care, ambulatory care centers, and mental health settings. They practice under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Physicians.

Licensure Upon completion of the program of study, students are eligible to take the National Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses.

Student Success Graduates of the UTTC Associate of Applied Science in Practical Nursing Program have been very successful in passing the national practical nursing licensure exam and acquiring employment.

Length of Program Our nursing program can be completed in four semesters and one summer session. The program’s 72 credit hours can be completed at the UTTC campus.

Articulation Courses taken in the UTTC Practical Nursing Program transfer into Baccalaureate programs.

Learning Environment Small class sizes offer students individualized assistance for learning. Students work in small groups with a faculty advisor.

Students learn nursing skills in the Department Skills Lab.

Skills Lab The nursing program has teaching equipment and mannequins that allow students to take blood pressures, listen to heart and lung sounds, as well as initiate IVs and perform numerous nursing skills.

Students are taught to conduct physical exams.

Students are provided with “hands on” experience.

Clinical Experiences Faculty accompany students to clinical sites where they receive additional hands-on learning. Clinical sites includes a local hospital, nursing homes, in addition to community providers.

Nursing Resource Room Computers with nursing software, internet access, and nursing reference materials are available to nursing students in the nursing department.

Support Services Campus services include: College Library Student Health Center Day Care Preschool Elementary School Bookstore Computer Labs Learning Center Counselors Chemical Health Center Chapel Physical Fitness Center Recreation Program
