Today’s lesson will focus on Renewable Energy. So, what is Renewable Energy? Renewable Energy 2.
Renewable Energy 1) Solar Power 2) Wind Power 3) Hydro Power (Water) 1) Solar Power 2) Wind Power 3) Hydro Power (Water)
Renewable Forms of Energy (Also called Alternative Energy or Sustainable Energy)
Nonrenewable Resources
Wind energy – energy generated from the movement of air Wind moves through a wind turbine which turns an electric generator converting.
Renewable energy resources are the sources that can be replaced / generated at the same rate that they are being utilised.
NONRENEWABLE AND RENEWABLE RESOURCES. HMMMM.... What do you think nonrenewable resources are? Break it down... Non? Renewable? Resource?
Energy  Humans use varied energy resources  Most came from solar energy  Decomposition of plants, animals buried underground form fossil fuels Which.
Coal NonRenewable Advantages: Produces a lot of energy, easy to find and obtain. Disadvantages: Burning coal produces air pollution.
Energy Resources. Non-renewable energy resources are made of: fossil fuels uranium (used in nuclear plants).

Non-Renewable Resources Fossil Fuels (coal, oil, petroleum) take millions of years to form. (They form from dead plants and animals.) In the U.S. these.
Energy Resources Notes. Nonrenewable resources A natural resource that is not replaced as it is used May take millions of years to form Includes oil,
Energy Resources. What are Fossil Fuels? Fossil Fuels are energy rich substances formed from the remains of once living organisms. The 3 main fossil fuels.
What is an Energy Source (or Resource) ??
Renewable Fuels Biomass Wind Hydroelectric Hydrogen Solar.
Today we’re going to learn more about Renewable Energy
The 'energy can neither be created, can not be destroyed, can only be transformed. Typical energy resources include fossil fuel, biofuels nuclear fuels.
What are 2 types of energy resources?  Renewable  Non-Renewable.
All Roads Lead to Fossil Fuels 1)Heat is released from fuel and boils the water to make steam. 2)The steam turns the turbine. 3)The turbine turns a generator.

Why are fossil fuels considered nonrenewable? Fossil Fuels are sources of energy that take a very long period of time to form and once depleted, are essentially.

COUNTRIES USING RENEWABLE ENERGY Homework: Week 3 Term 2 Amber Burgess Brazil Spain Germany China Brazil Spain Germany China

BRAZIL Brazil produces lot’s of renewable energy sources, such as biofuel, solar energy, wind power and is developing technologies such as solar water heating. They support and attract foreign investment into solar energy as well. Biofuel is an oil produced by sugar cane, corn or vegetable oils etc. The goal or purpose of biofuel is to possibly replace fossil fuels, which we will eventually run out of.

SPAIN  Spain imports most of their energy, although wind power has become their largest source of electricity. Some Spanish are also building turbines and installing wind farms internationally. Turbines are a machine that transforms rotational energy from a fluid into usable energy.

GERMANY Germany has made a huge difference because they have pledged to clear out all of their nuclear power plants by It is the only country to project a protest to clean energy investments. They produce lot’s of renewable energy sources such as wind, biomass and solar power. Over the country there are more than 23,000 wind turbines, which is 357,000 square kilometres.

CHINA  Research shows that China is the world leader in clean energy investments. In 2013 China spent $54 billion in investments for renewable energy sources. They are well above the total amount of money that the United States invested, which is $36.7 billion. Most people believe that the United States are in the lead but some of the websites I’ve visited say that China is way in front. But because China is a country that doesn’t really have clean air, so I’m not so sure that this is true.
