© 2010, TSI Incorporated Time Resolved PIV system A global imaging system that has the ability to capture image fields (velocity fields) at orders of magnitude faster than standard PIV systems A PIV system that makes flow measurements with very high update rates Can provide information about –Flow dynamics, flow transport –Motion of structures in the flow An integrated system with high frame rate camera and high speed pulse laser

© 2010, TSI Incorporated Time Resolved PIV system Provides instantaneous flow fields - Spatial and temporal nature of the flow field Special algorithms form TSI (e.g., Hart Correlation) –to increase spatial resolution (more flow details, structures in the flow) Interest in knowing evolution of the flow Need to make velocity measurements with high update rate, typically in KHz or higher Time Series Analysis package Provides Time history, time series plots, statistics and spectrum analysis
